ABOUT US

JSI’s business in Iraq is managed by rotating resident country managers, both of whom are former British military specialists with extensive experience of commercial security, and overseen by Baghdad-based company Directors both of whom have considerable Military and commercial security and training experience.

Beneath this team lies a series of project managers and site security managers, all of whom have long experience in specialist units within the British / US armed forces. Our local national management team is also structured around an Iraqi country manager and a deputy, with team leaders acting as the most senior roles within each project.

Additionally we have a number of HQ local administrative staff.

Our capability in Iraq is to provide turnkey solutions to clients seeking to operate in Iraq.

Our methods of operation are based upon a number of key fundamentals:

  • Use of only highly experienced former British / US military team leaders and managers; most with ex-Special Forces or comparable specialist backgrounds.
  • Use of maximal Iraqi manpower; each one of whom is vetted, trained and selected by our local management team (itself a mixture of British and Iraqi personnel). We maintain a dedicated screening and training team, based at our Baghdad office.
  • Intelligence-based decision-making; is critical to JSI’s activities. Due to the high concentration of Iraqi staff in our organisation, we benefit from locally sourced intelligence that may be unavailable elsewhere. We maintain a permanent analytical team that works only on Iraq intelligence issues.
  • Community engagement; is another important aspect of our work. We engage particularly closely with local community leaders to ensure that we can operate safely in their area of influence. We pay our Iraqi staff well, and seek to support them and develop their skills. Above all, we treat Iraqis with respect
  • Low visibility operations; are central to our methods. Our personnel do not wear uniforms or paramilitary attire (except in static guarding circumstances where it is beneficial or required to do so). We do not overtly display weapons or behave in an aggressive manner under normal conditions.
  • Above all JSI’s approach is about being non-confrontational, unless confronted, and highly organised and professional in our response when confrontation does occur. Our approach allows us to work where others cannot, and to actively manage security risks in one of the most dangerous environments in the world.
